In the evening on July 18, 2026, multiple fire unit responded to a reported structure fire in Flamingo Bay in St. James City.
Lee County Dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting a mobile home on fire, with callers also reporting explosions coming from the structure.
Upon arrival, crews found the home fully involved in fire. Firefighters quickly deployed hose lines, initiated an aggressive fire attack, and protected nearby structures from the advancing flames.
Thanks to their rapid response and coordinated efforts, crews were able to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to neighboring homes.
Unfortunately, the mobile home is considered a total loss. There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
