Americas' 250th Birthday of Freedom and Annual Pine Island 4th of July, 2026 parade and events --- began as in previous years at 10 AM, at Winn Dixie shopping plaza and proceeded north on Stringfellow Road.
Residents got up early in celebration as residents and kids lined up on both sides of the street to watch the parade and gather candy and prizes thrown by the floats passing by.
This year’s celebration was supported by mostly small to mid size local business from Matlacha and Pine Island.
There was tons of other island events planned throughout the day with American Legions having Fireworks at dusk.
Franks Bobcat Services sponsored their annual fundraiser at the Pine Island Moose Lodge to raise money for Pine Island Elementary School which was a huge success.
